BYD launches Da Tang EV, a 950km SUV

BYD officially introduced the flagship electric SUV Da Tang EV with a power reserve of up to 950 km, charging from 10% to 97% in 9 minutes and acceleration to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. Prices start at ¥239,900 ($35,500).

On June 17, 2026, BYD officially launched sales of the flagship seven-seat electric SUV Da Tang EV (Great Tang), the brand's first-ever D-segment SUV in the Dynasty lineup. The car has already collected more than 150,000 pre-orders since the start of pre-sales in April at the Beijing Motor Show.

The Da Tang EV is equipped with a second-generation BYD Blade Battery with a capacity of 105.7 to 130.1 kWh and a 1000-volt architecture. Flash Charge technology allows you to charge the battery from 10% to 97% in just 9 minutes. The 585 kW twin-engine version accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds at a top speed of 250 km/h.

Design and comfort

Dimensions: 5,263 × 1,999 × 1,790 mm, wheelbase — 3,130 mm. The interior is designed according to the 2+2+3 scheme (seven seats) — the first such format in China. The car is equipped with a DiSus-A air suspension with a body lift of 100 mm, a system of rear steerable wheels (angle ±7°, turning radius 5.2 m) and a "crab" mode.

Driver assistance systems

As standard, God's Eye 5.0 is installed with LiDAR on the roof, supporting assisted driving in the city and on the highway.

BYD has built 6,682 Flash Charge stations in 321 cities in China. Da Tang EV competes with Leapmotor D19 and Onvo L90 in the segment of large electric SUVs.
