Delivery methods from China: road, rail, sea and air

Cost and lead time depend heavily on the delivery method. Here are the four main options and when each is more advantageous.

Road (cargo)

A versatile option for most cargo: reasonable price and acceptable lead time (usually 1–3 weeks). Good for consolidated batches and regular supplies.

Rail

A good balance of price and time for large batches over long distances. Cheaper than air and more stable on schedule.

Sea

The cheapest option for large volumes and heavy cargo, but also the slowest (from a month). Ideal when timing is not critical and the volume is large.

Air

The fastest option (a few days) for urgent, light or high-value cargo. More expensive per kilogram than the others.

It is often best to combine: send the urgent part by air and the bulk by road or sea. We match the scheme to weight, volume, budget and timing.
